Foreword Names New Associate Publisher

TRAVERSE CITY, MI, January 30, 2018— Magazine veteran Bill Harper recently joined Foreword Reviews as its associate publisher.

Mr. Harper been in the media business for over forty years and has worked for several national media companies including Esquire Magazine, Wenner Media, and Active Interest Media. While at Wenner Media in the 1980s and 90s, Mr. Harper was vice president in charge of the West Coast for Rolling Stone, US Magazine, and Men’s Journal. Wenner Media purchased US Magazine from the New York Times Company in the mid 1980s and took it through many iterations to what it is today, a weekly celebrity magazine. Mr. Harper was on the launch team for Men’s Journal; the initial editorial positioning and essence of the magazine remains intact today.

In the early 2000s, Mr. Harper formed his own company, Harper & Associates, representing many high profile and niche magazines including Yoga Journal, Life & Style, Complex, BlackBook, Four Seasons, and others. Under his guidance, Yoga Journal was successfully sold to Active Interest Media and Mr. Harper came on board AIM as the Vice President and Group Publisher of Yoga Journal and Vegetarian Times. AIM then purchased Clean Eating magazine which was put under his purview, as well.

More recently, ​Mr. Harper formed Stay Current Media, a media consulting company. He specializes in media that have multiple touch points with readers—print, web, social, events, streaming, and other ancillary content, either paid or advertiser supported.
