Chronicles the remarkable life of Charles Novacek, one that took him from a youth spent in the Czech Resistance during WWII/Cold War, to the displaced persons camps of Germany, until he was finally granted access to the American Dream. Novacek’s childhood was shattered by the Nazi occupation. At age 11 he was trained for wartime resistance. He remained in the resistance after WWII when the Communists took over, enduring arrest, capture, & torture, before his escape across the German border.
