It’s 1963. Peace Corps volunteer Laura Jenson meets Fulbright Scholar Peter Franklin in Guatemala. Inspired by JFK’s call to action, they came to help the poor, but soon discover a nation on the brink of civil war. As they fall in love, Laura becomes involved in Guatemala’s nascent revolutionary movement and convinces Peter to work with her clandestinely in the city and mountains. The tension builds as the government’s security forces close in on them and then trap them in a safe house.
