I met Edward Van Halen in 1977 and was in his life until 2003. I wrote about that amazing 26-year period in Tonechaser. I spent time at his house and he spent time at mine; I introduced him to Billy Gibbons, Les Paul and Ritchie Blackmore; I jammed with him; and I shared secrets with him and he shared secrets with me. No other writer ever had this type of friendship with Edward, which makes Tonechaser such a unique book.
