Albie on His Way
Albie—a winsome mouse in red trousers—is called upon to see the king, a boorish, demanding fellow who sends him on a mission. But Albie finds himself distracted during the errand; he stops to help those in need. Miniature gray scale illustrations run along the bottom of the page, illuminating the life cycles at the castle in the long period when Albie is away. It takes Albie a long time to get where he’s going, but his generosity pays off for all.
