Henri's Walk to Paris
The late graphic designer Saul Bass is known for his striking film title sequences for Hitchcock’s North by Northwest and Psycho. This reprint of his classy children’s book about a young boy who lives in a small town outside Paris sports the same bold colors and linear forms. Henri is dying to see the big city, where, he imagines, they have thousands of buses (his town has just one). But when he sets out to visit the City of Lights, his compass isn’t exactly cooperative. Ultimately, it seems that “Home Sweet Home” is a universal sentiment. All ages.
