I Am an Antiracist Superhero

With Activities to Help You Be One Too!

Empowering children to “Look, Listen, Feel, and then Act,” this picture book is a primer on antiracist activism. After witnessing the protests following the murder of George Floyd, Malik is afraid; his parents encourage him to think of real-life heroes (including Ruby Bridges and Rosa Parks) to remind himself that he can be brave too. The book then transitions into Malik’s handwritten stick-figure guide on being “an antiracist superhero”; the transition from polished, bright illustrations to Malik’s crayon drawings is charming.
