Starred Review:

In the Half Room

This latest title from Caldecott Honor winner Carson Ellis is surrealistic and dreamy, tripping through a room of partial objects while the half moon shines in through the window just before bedtime. A halved vase of flowers drips luscious pink blooms over the table, while a freckled girl reads half a book in a chopped off chair. This half dream is made complete when the girl meets herself at the door and goes sailing off into the sky, leaving two half cats purring, wholly contented, inside.
