Ludwig and the Rhinoceros

Finalist, Picture Books, Early Reader (Children's)

Blues and greens contrast with neon yellow and fiery orange in this philosophical bedtime story that tackles the rhinoceros in the room. When Ludwig’s father comes to check on why he’s not asleep, Ludwig insists there is a rhinoceros in his room; his father cannot find it, and thus declares there is no rhinoceros at all. When challenged to prove it, Ludwig’s father admits that he cannot, and Ludwig finds his calling as a philosopher.
