The Name Game

A girl languishes in her living room, bored silly with her indoor day. Then a magpie flits onto her window sill and initiates some unexpected play. At its prompting, the girl begins naming what she sees, from the bird to a tree to a butterfly flapping by. Soon she feels as lively as the world outside of her window. Watercolor images that are busy with bright details enliven this story about making fun wherever one happens to be.
