Ziggy Piggy and the Three Little Pigs
Popular Vermont author and illustrator Frank Asch has been a favorite of children for many years and he doesn’t disappoint with this new take on pig trio Ned, Ted and Fred, and their ageless problem with keeping a roof over their heads. The big bad wolf goes one step further in this version, and blows down Fred’s brick house. Fortunately there’s Ziggy, the new pig on the block, who just can’t get upset over the ferocious wolf. Instead, he goes camping, sleeps under the stars, swims and builds sand castles.
With their homes in ruins and the wolf chasing them, Ned, Ted and Fred are saved by the fun-loving but quick-thinking Ziggy.
The special appeal of this book is in the way the author seamlessly weaves the story and pictures together. The computer-colorized illustrations are simple and effective. Asch is the author and illustrator of more than 60 books for children.
