A Thank You to American Veterans
Meyer had been looking for a way to explain to her three young daughters what a Veteran was and why we thank Veterans and soldiers for their service. Failing to find a book that could gently explain about war and the service of American soldiers, Meyer found inspiration to craft her own story as a form of a thank you. Kirkus Reviews says, “Lyrical text and soaring imagery give school-age children a taste of war, peace, freedom, and military service.”
