The Artist and the Lava Beast

The story opens with an artist sitting at his easel, wondering what he will paint. He fills his canvas with fish, a forest, a village, mountains and lava that threatens a brave little house in the village. During the creation of the painting, the lava animates into a lava beast. The story invites children to visualize and empathize with what is happening to the lava beast as he learns who he is and where he belongs. Children explore the connection between imagination, art and storytelling.
