In the sleepy town of Pennington in upstate New York, all is not well in the Tippins household, despite outward appearances. Precocious, 13-year-old Klara Tippins does not fit in with her family, she does not fit in with her peers, and she is beginning to suspect that she is incompatible with life on planet Earth. As she navigates her confusing, disconnected life, she encounters three belief systems—Hinduism, Quakerism, and Q’ero Shamanism—that set her on a journey of self-discovery.
