Tortuga Squad

Kids Saving Sea Turtles in Costa Rica

TORTUGA SQUAD is a photo-documentary book about a group of youngsters in Costa Rica who patrol the beaches of Parismina Island to rescue endangered baby sea turtles from poachers and animal predators. The young volunteers watch for new hatchings of baby turtles, moving the eggs to incubate safely in a nearby hatchery, then escorting the tiny turtles as they scramble over the sand to their home in the sea. This is Book 2 in the WAKA series featuring kids involved in wild animal rescue projects.
