Water Ghosts

James McCafferty hears the voices of dead people. His mother signs him up on a summer adventure program for troubled teens aboard a traditional Chinese junk sailing the mid-Pacific. At sea the voices become louder and James's anxieties turn to terror as the journey progresses. Below, in the hold of the ship, he discovers the shui gui -- Chinese ghosts who wait to trade places with the living. James's shipmates think he's crazy until one by one people on board begin to go missing.
